Pathologist's Letter
Mr. Wilson:
I am echoing the plea of Dr. Clive Sinoff. Pain management is
changing
on a daily basis. Alan Spanos of Duke says that the opiates for
advanced cancer patients and even other chronic pain patients should be
several times that of usual postoperative medication level. They
just
don't respond. Taking a physician to court just because he gives
bucketfulls of pain medicines to manage chronic pain management is a
travesty of justice. Please stop the prosecution of Dr. Weitzel and save
thousands and even millions of future patients from inappropriate and
insufficient pain control.
