      Weitzel case lacks merit
I feel that Melvin Wilson, the Davis County attorney, and all of the
other attorneys who have made such a mess of the Weitzel case should
immediately resign. They have clearly lied about the trial judge in the
case, the Honorable Thomas L. Kay. His reasoned, calm, yet exhaustive and
ultimately very powerful rebuke of their groundless accusations is
incredibly compelling reading, and you should make your readers aware that
it is available on the Internet at www.WeitzelCharts.com.
Mr. Wilson, members of his staff and the Utah Department of
Professional Licensing lawyers show no judgment whatsoever. They have
unjustly brought this case, then continued it despite its obvious lack of
merit. They seem to have completely forgotten about the concept of
prosecutorial discretion, by which state officials are to pursue cases
only when there is real and convincing proof of crime.
The opposite is more the case here. Weitzel was told by the families
of his patients to stop the heroics and let them die in peace. No patient
was overdosed; this is abundantly clear from the medical charts, posted so
      openly on the Web.
